high schools will be held between the middle to the end of March.

First weekend in April /Yuda Onsen "Byakko Matsuri"
(White Fox Festival)
It is a festival people celebrate blessing of hot springs. At
festival, lively events including dancing and the sacred fox torch
parade of children will be taken place in Yudaonsen.
8 〜9 /School Entrance Ceremony
School Entrance Ceremonies of primary schools and junior high
schools in the city will be held . In Japan, the beginning of
a new year of schools and a fiscal year in business and government
offices starts on April 1.
Early April /a cherry blossoms viewing season
Most cherry blossoms in Yamaguchi City will begin to bloom for
about a week during this period. There are 200 cherry trees along
Ich-no-Saka River and as well as the National Treasure Rurikouji
(with the Five-Story Pagoda) which will be illuminated in the
evening for cherry blossoms viewing. Other famous spots to see
cherry blossoms are Kido Shrine( on the first Sunday of April,
spring festival will take place), Yuda big Bridge, Ishin Park,
Mt. Gongen, Kameyama Park and Furukuma Shrine. Blossoms which
can be seen in Yamaguchi city are kind of Somei yoshino.

In this crowded festival, people sell a lot of local products in the yard of Tokusa Hachimangu Temple.
Mid April /Lake Ohara Sakura Road Race
A road race start and end at Fureai Lake Ohara Park will be held
. 800 cherry trees can be seen around the lake.
Mid April /Mud Volleyball Festival-praying
for a good harvest
In Ikumo, Ato, people enjoy playing volleyball in the muddy rice field just before its cultivation.
