International Monetary Transfers

International money transfers can be made at banks or post offices .

Transfers at Banks

  • In Yamaguchi City, only 2 banks can transfer money to an overseas bank account.

    Yamaguchi Branch Office of Yamaguchi Bank (an account at Yamaguchi Bank is not required)

    Yamaguchi Branch Office of Mizuho Bank (an account at Mizuho Bank is required).

  • All transactions must be made at the international money transfer windows, and necessary information needs to be filled out on the international money transfer slip.

  • A person receiving an international money transfer must have an account at the bank where money will be sent.

  • Electronic wire transfers and regular money transfers are available. A service fee will be charged for all transactions. While an electronic wire transfer is much quick, it is also more expensive than a regular money transfer. Fees vary depending on the bank and country where money will be sent.
