Toshunji (Temple)

Toshunji (Temple)

In 1404, the 26th Lord Moriharu Ouchi constructed Toshunji (temple), which became the temple for the Moriharu clan after his death. The temple was originally named Kokuseiji; it was renamed Toshunji as the clan temple of Lord Motonari Mori in 1868. The temple gate dates back to the original building. Kannondo, the temple of the Goddess of Mercy, was relocated from the site of Kannonji (temple) in Takimachi in 1915.

(It takes about 6 minutes by car from JR Yamaguchi station.)
